Angel Studios, the distributor of the film “Sight” (FREE link: sight.drmingwang.com), as well as many other Christian film with inspiring stories that “amplify light” (the company’s motto) went IPO on New York Stock Exchange on 9/11/25. Dr. Ming Wang, Harvard & MIT (MD, magna cum laude); PhD (laser physics), Director of Wang Vision Institute and the subject of the movie “Sight” went to New York and joined the Angel team and celebrated this milestone.
“Angel Studios represents a visionary and bold venture to offer American families films and entertainment that is family-friendly, inspirational and faith-based. Today’s Hollywood is filled with films that are filled with violence, sex and drugs, so Angel Studios offers powerful alternative, something American families truly need.” Dr. Wang said.

According to Wang, the most unique feature of Angel Studios is it’s 1.5 million guild members, who not only get to enjoy all of the film on its streaming platform (Angel.com), but also get a chance to vote and decide for Angel Studios what film to release. It is putting the power of film making and distribution into the hands of the most important people, the audience.
“Sight” was shown in 2,118 theaters in North America in 2024, and ran in theaters for 3 months, the longest theatrically run film that summer. It is based on Dr. Wang’s autobiography “From Darkness to Sight” and features Greg Kinnear. The film tells the story of the work of Wang Foundation for Sight Restoration, which has helped blind orphan children from around the world. Dr. Wang invented the amniotic membrane contact lens, a $5 billion/year sight restoration technology now that has helped millions. Even though Dr. Wang himself did not make any money since he donated his patent, he said that he did the right thing since he did not invent the placenta nor amniotic membrane. “As a scientist and a Christian, I am privileged to be given an opportunity by God to catch a glimpse of part of His original creation”.
